A Message From the President
Greetings,

Well what do you know; summer is just about ready to go. September is my favorite month of the year for many reasons. The weather as it evolves from summer into fall is absolutely gorgeous, football season begins, the kid’s go back to school and it is the month I was born.

On behalf of the entire hardworking and very devoted Holbrook Chamber Fair Committee, I would like to thank all of the Holbrook residents for your incredible support with this year’s event. With four days of great weather, two world class fireworks shows, non-stop music and entertainment, this year’s fair was our most successful in the 16 years we have been hosting it.

First and foremost, I would like to thank our Fair Chairwoman Bea Hoffer, the owner and editor of the Our Place Newspapers. Good things do sometimes come for free, Our Place Newspaper and all it does for our community is one of them. Thanks to Bea’s leadership and coordination both this year and with the prior 15 years the event was held, it really has become an annual highlight for the Holbrook community. Our committee consisted almost entirely of Holbrook local merchants and service related individuals whom you likely frequent and support on a regular basis. Without the volunteer efforts of these fine folks there is no way the Chamber could ever pull off an event of this magnitude.

Special thanks to Holbrook resident and former Chamber Board Member Bill Hagemeyer for organizing, promoting and developing this year’s “Let’s Be Green…Keep Holbrook Clean” theme into a real hit with all of our attendees. A gracious thank you to all of our Green Sponsors, especially Hilex our most generous participant of all. They are a plastic recycling company. Hilex not only co-sponsored our fireworks shows, they also provided 2,000 reusable shopping totes that the Chamber utilized to recognize many of our other large sponsors as well as 40 recycling bins. Thank you once again Anthony and Kim from Hilex.

Stop and Shop, thank you for co-sponsoring the fireworks once again along with providing free water, juices and delicious treats for many of the attendees. Outback, thank you for cooking those delicious burgers and chicken sandwiches with which all proceeds were donated to the Holbrook Chamber. Thank you to Winter Brothers our entertainment sponsor, Legislator Lindsay for sponsoring Johnny and the Rockers on Saturday evening. A heartfelt Chamber thank you to all of the other over fifty chamber businesses who sponsored our carnival rides.

Another huge addition to our fair this year was iradiousa.com. Eric the owner and our very own emcee for the entire weekend was just incredible. Eric and his wife Michele took the entertainment portion of the fair to a whole new level. We look forward to future events with our good friends from iradiousa.com.

Last but by no means least, thank you to Superintendant James Nolan, the entire Sachem School Board, Sachem Security and the staff at Seneca Middle School for the opportunity to host this wonderful event for both the Chamber and the entire community.

With the success of this year’s fair, the Holbrook Chamber will be able to continue maintaining and beautifying even further the gateways into the Holbrook Business District as well as the northern corridor of Patchogue/Holbrook Road. Additionally, we will be able to once again install our festive holiday lights and host all of our cultural events. Bottom line, the Chamber can do what it loves most…..promoting local business and making our residents lives a little nicer living in our town, Holbrook.

Great things are happening in Holbrook thanks to the collaborative efforts of all.

All the Best Always,
Rick Ammirati
